What this directory does and doesn't publish

Trust model
  • FAA-sourced directory. Every record is an examiner the FAA Designee Locator currently lists; rendered fields (name, location, FSDO, ratings, contact) come straight from that source.
  • Cited examiner notes. Profile pages add notes about how an examiner conducts a checkride only when the claim is backed by a publicly-published source (the DPE's own site, an editorially-reviewed aggregator, or attributed press). Each note carries an inline citation; click through to the source.
  • No pass-rate tables. The FAA does not publish per-DPE disapproval data. Anything that pretends to is invented or extrapolated from samples too small to support the claim, so there is no field for it in this corpus.
  • No comparative ranking. No “top 10 easiest” lists; no editorial weighting we invent. The directory is alphabetical and geographic — that is the only ordering we think we can defend.
  • No anonymous submissions. Until a moderation workflow exists, the corpus does not host an open intake for free-text claims about named individuals.
Source data refreshed 2026-05-04. Designee information is sourced from the FAA Designee Locator. Examiner notes, when shown, are sourced from publicly-available materials cited inline. Pricing and availability change frequently — confirm directly with the examiner before booking.
DPEs and applicants who notice an inaccuracy can write to hello@checkride.io — corrections are processed against the cited source.
